Luxury Wedding Show London 2011

We’ll toast to that! The 22nd and 23rd October was the long awaited Luxury Wedding Show London 2011 at the Saatchi Gallery. The whole build up was a mixture of excitement, nerves and a bit of trepidation, all I can say is that Sam and I let our hair down metaphorically and had a blast promoting Vintage Tea Sets, Clarabows fascinator workshops and our 1920′s reproduction dresses. It was pimms jelly, macaroons and cake pops all the way that weekend and we met some amazing couples planning their big day. Some exciting opportunities have come to fruition from that weekend already which we’ll be sharing over the coming months….anyway…bottoms up!

We’re in Cosmopolitan Bride this month for Guy and Alex’s wedding!

Working with Alex and Guy was an absolute pleasure, such a lovely couple – they had gorgeous daughter Esme just a few months after I had my bonnie boy Oscar, so our meeting together was colourful with the two little babies wanting to take part in proceedings!

I’d been really looking forward to working on this wedding as I’d been given complete autonomy plus was working alongside flower guru Julie of www.floriture.co.uk plus good chum photographer Rosie Parsons and Fosters Events. Check out the article and for more pictures visit Rosies blog HERE

Our 1920′s clothing website is on the way!

Those of you who have followed this blog for a while will know my passion for the 1920′s. How that passion has took me on a new career path with Vintage Tea Sets & Clara Bows Millinery, well this is very exciting news and quite frankly an honour…..

Having been a huge fan of Leluxe Clothing dresses in the US, I got married in their ‘Vamp Dress’ for starters, I’ve become www.leluxeclothing.co.uk – the UK retail and wholesaler, the site will be up and running in August 2011 taking online sales plus I’ll have a list of stockists on there where you can visit their shops. I’ll also be selling an exclusive range of 1920′s fascinators through the site which are created to match the dresses and there will be more bridal options too.

Leluxe dresses are stunning replicas based on authentic twenties dresses but available in a range of sizes and they can even be ordered in bespoke colours for an additonal fee.

Another snippet of news is that these very dresses are on the silver screen in the fabulous film ‘The Artist’which received excellent reviews in Cannes, starring Jean Dujardin (who won best Actor at Cannes for this film), Bérénice Bejo, John Goodman and James Cromwell. It premiers in Paris in October 2011 and is widely being talked about by critics as an Oscar contender. The costume designer for the film, Mark Bridges, also was the costume designer for ‘There will be blood‘ with Daniel Day-Lewis and is a big Leluxeclothing fan!

There’s a hundred Leluxe dresses in the film and the silver and black tango dress is shown above in the film still on the leading actress. Check out the film trailer and see for yourselves! A local Bristol wedding for Vintage Tea Sets, we supplied the china only for this lovely couple who got married in Bristol Registry Office and then held their afternoon tea wedding breakfast at Goldbrick House. These beautiful images were captured by Rosie Parsons who was awarded Cosmopolitan Bride Photographer of the Year!

Goldbrick House is also a venue for our hen party fascinator workshops!

Beth & Darrels Christmas vintage wedding

Congratulations to beautiful Beth & dapper Darrell! who tied the knot on Boxing Day at their Hotel (Westover Gardens Hotel in Bournemouth) and a warm thank you to them both and Dorset photographer Kevin Wilson for allowing us to share these gorgeous pictures with you of their big day that simply looked fabulous, Beth really does had a great eye for detail. Where did she get that hat!

Tiffany-Grant Riley, official wedding planner to none other than Luella’s Boudoir contacted me recently in respect of an article she was writing based on planning a wedding with a 1920′s theme for Vintage Life Nostalgia Magazine. My jaw dropped this morning when I discovered my skull cap cloche made it on the front cover! Not to mention a lovely write up inside on my 1920′s hats and fascinator workshops, plus a full page pic of the hat again! A big thanks to all involved, especially Tiffany and of course the photographer who took that picture at the Hobbs Best of Bristol Show, Ria Mishaal Cooke.
