Vintage Tea Sets & You and Your Wedding Magazine

A couple of months ago I travelled up to ‘You and Your Wedding’ HQ with a car full of vintage china, flowers….cakes and met some of the team for this shoot forming party of ‘Bride Candy’.  Whilst the china and silverware is all mine I’d like to give a special thanks to the following ladies who supplied the extra details that make it all ‘pop’ – The lovely flowers were supplied by Julie from Floriture, the scrumptious ornate cakes from Sheona of Cake Matters and the vintage style Alice in Wonderland tags were from Alexandra Celine Designs.

And whilst I’m at it……Sheona will probably kill me for this as she’s up to her eyeballs in orders at the moment! But check out this tea pot cake she did (made to match my china, Foley pattern to be precise), the YAYW team liked this cake so much I left it with them. Sheona is ‘the’ cake master and I look forward to working on many more projects with her in the future. If you’re interested in booking Cake Matters for your event, contact sooner rather than later as her diary fills up quick indeed. This picture was taken by Caroline Pilling photography.

Fascinator Workshops, Demo’s and wedding fayres for Vintage Tea Sets – Jan to Feb 2010

Amongst the workshops and wedding fayres,  2010 is getting very busy and booked up  very quickly for weddings and events.  Here’s the next 6 weeks diary for you, where you’ll see me out and about (or just the china) and some fun creative workshops I’m hosting. I’ll update my facebook with more events so pop over there and add yourself, much easier than referring to my blog where information gets buried quickly as I’m quite a busy poster.

In date order…..

Sunday 17th January 2010 – Bath Guildhall Wedding Fayre 10pm till 3pm

If you decide to book the venue on the day you’ll receive 10% off room hire and will be automatically entered into a fantastic prize draw

A selection of my vintage china (Vintage Tea Sets) will be on display at the Bath Guildhall Wedding Fayre at the Fosters Stand.   Pop over and say Hi to the Fosters Events Team and check out they’re gorgeous menu’s.

Sunday 14th February 2010 – The Lord Mayors Mansion House Wedding Fayre – 10am to 3pm

Fosters events are hosting a public wedding fayre at the Lord Mayors Mansion house in Bristol including a number of their preferred suppliers.  I’ll be on hand to give you advice on giving your wedding some vintage style touches and will also have a display for you to take a look at to give you some ideas on how to make your tables look stunning.

Sunday February 20th 2010 – Bridal Workshop – Floral, Jewellery and Fascinator…upstairs in the Hamptons Deli – 11am – 3pm

This is a low key, relaxed affair at the Hamptons Deli, pop in for a coffee to meet Julie from Floriture, Alexandra-Céline and myself to find out what we have to offer in our workshops, we’ll be showing you some neat demo’s.  This is perfect for people wanting to learn a new skill and save money on their wedding day….maybe you’d like to make your bridal headpiece? a unique personal item of jewellery or want to tackle those centrepieces….come and see us, grab a coffee and we can tell you whether we can create a course that fits your requirements.

And lets face it, The Hamptons is an excellent delicatessen and coffee shop, I can often be found in there sampling their delights (their scotch eggs are something else – naughty)…….The Hamptons address is 21a High Street, Chipping Sodbury (Outside Bristol).

Monday 22nd February 2010 – Fascinating Mad Hatters Workshop – Caffe Clifton 6pm-late……

I cannot wait for this one as well!  Limited spaces available and bookings are coming in after I only released info yesterday so book early to avoid disappointment.  More details are on facebook

I’ll be hosting a fascinator workshop at Caffe Clifton with a themed afternoon tea complete with mad hatter vintage crockery and lots of Alice in Wonderland twists.  You can make up to 2 pieces depending on how you do for time (how elaborate you want to be).  I’ll be giving you ideas and suggestions but as the name suggests, its a Mad Hatters Party, so you will have lots of choice of adornments…..flowers, feathers, simamay, beads, crystals, pearls…..just get creative, and I’ll be there to give you guidance and assistance.

Keep it as simple or flamboyant as you like….its up to you…..contact me (Vicky) on 0117 9532973 or email info@vintageteasets.co.uk to reserve your space.

March to come……..

1920’s Wedding Shoot Styled by Vintage Tea Sets

On Monday and Tuesday earlier this week I (Vintage Tea Sets) styled this gorgeous 1920’s inspired Bridal Photo Shoot.  Here’s a tiny snapshot of what the very talented photographer Rosie Parsons captured on the Tuesday, on the Monday we were at a secret location shhhhhh! More to come on that.  She’s done an amazing job yet again and I cannot rate her wedding photography highly enough.

I’ll be blogging more on the detail shortly, the dresses, head pieces etc with a special thanks to all those suppliers, all to come.  But initially I’d like to thank Floriture and Bella & Fifi for the beautiful flowers, Award Winning Make up Artist Sarah Brock and Becky Simpson from Hair by Becks @ Thairapy Bristol.  Not to mention Combe House for letting us shoot there.  Now enjoy these gorgeous images!

Vintage Tea Sets + Floriture = this…….

Julie from floriture and myself recently did a wedding for a very lovely lady and she kindly passed us a couple of pictures, so please do take a look.  Whilst the Chinas mine, the wonderful floral displays are all Julies’ prowess and hard work.  You know what?  I’ll let the pictures do the talking…..if you haven’t got a florist yet…..get on the phone to Julie.  She also does workshops so you can learn how to flower arrange yourself, just for the hell of it or maybe for a hen weekend?  Great ideas and someone who I can’t wait to work with again to be honest.

Teapots, flowers and a tea cup candle....gorgeous!
